Off the Beaten Wine Trial

Don’t get us wrong, we love the Murrumbateman wine trial, but if you are a confident (and competent) rider we have a special adventure just for you.
Ride some scenic country roads and go Off the Beaten Wine Trial to sample some of Murrumbateman’s most awarded wines (and meet some of the wine makers), accompanied with a few epicurean delights along the way. We’ve hand curated the perfect all-inclusive day for you to spoil that someone special (ormake a day to remember with family and friends, groups of up to 8 are welcome).

You start your day with us at 9:30am, we’ll get you set up and on your way to your first tasting at Shaw Wines at 10am.
At Shaw Wines you will enjoy a seated tasting at your own table where you can taste the wines in your own time. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through their delicious range using the bracket system, which allows you to  taste the wines in pairs making it easier to identify the different characters of the wines. You’ll love their stunning cellar door and it’s sweeping views across their vineyard and beyond.

From here you will follow the trail through the Murrumbateman Village and then head Off the Beaten Wine Trail to Yarrh. This 9.5km ride will take you along beautiful hill lined country roads, with scenic vistas dotted with cattle, sheep and horses, and on through a wooded naturereserve. Beyond this you will find your second stop, Yarrh at  11:30am.

Yarrh’s cellar door commands a stunning view of the neighbouring
valley and vineyards, there you will sample 4 wines matched perfectly with a set of four gourmet food options, curated seasonally by their winemaker. This is one for the locavores out there, featuring locally sourced foods, house made,

that shine with the estate grown, regionally typical wines Yarrh is famous for.

Next stop is 14 km’s away the always fun and entertaining Dionysus Wines at 1:30pm.
The winemaking approach at Dionysus is simple; attention to detail at every stage of the process is paramount. Wendy, Michael and the team will guide you through a tasting in either the cellar door, in the winery, in the sculpture garden or under the pergola overlooking their beautiful views. Then comes the tricky part, choosing which glass of wine to pair with your three gourmet cheeses, home made quince paste, dried fruits, nuts and crackers.

Last stop of the day is a 6.5km ride to Eden Road Wines at 3:30

Here you will delight in the creations of award-winning French winemaker Celine Rousseau. Celine and the Team at Eden Road are committed to sustainable and organic winemaking and their passion shines through in every sip. You’ll want to stock up the cellar and we’re happy to help with $10 off for each rider for every purchase.
And as a special treat for our Off the Beaten Wine Path riders, you'll also find some hand crafted sweet treat's, lovingly made by Yasmin and her team at Murrumbateman Chocolate Co and showcasing local wines and liquors as fillings. Delicious!
